Age of Conan had a smooth launch

Written by damiende on May 21, 2008 – 9:43 am

The release went smoothly and there were no major glitches in the game.

Kudos to Funcom for doing their homework before the launch. I think it’s time for a break from world of warcraft. And Age of Conan will provide me this break. So far the reviews I have seen has been positive. And those that got into the early launch has also been positive.

I am also looking forward to see how Funcom will handle the rmt plague. Rmt has been a plague in every large game out there, and only time will tell if things will be different in Age of Conan.

I think botting will be hard to do when you see how the fighting system works. Powerleveing your way up will be impossible. This is good news as it will make the game less interesting for the rmt companies.

DC Madam commits suicide

Written by damiende on May 1, 2008 – 6:28 pm

Deborah Jeane Palfrey commited suicide earlier today. She was facing up to 55 years in prison.

I think it’s sad that she ended her own life, and I am sure that a lot of hypocrites on capitol hill is sleeping a little bit easier tonight…. Or maybe not she handed over a customer list that weighted 20 kilos, and hopefully these names will now be released into the public. So these hypocrites can be exposed for what they are.

Btw I smell a conspiracy theory coming…

Until next time

Whoohoo level 66

Written by damiende on November 24, 2007 – 7:04 pm

Yesterday I hit level 66 with my warrior Damiende. I haven’t had much time to play Wow lately but I got around doing lots of quests up in Blades edge mountains. This gave me enough xp to reach level 66. I have done all quests in Sylvanar. At this level they were surprisingly easy the drops needed came rather quickly and thats a good thing. Nothing is more boring then running around trying to get drops that takes forever to get. I did get some good drops besides the ones needed for the quests. And I made about 50 gold. Thats after all repairs. Below is a screen shoot of what I look like right now. I logged in Ironforge tonight so tomorrow I will be shopping for some new gear.

Until next time

Back in Azeroth

Written by damiende on October 18, 2007 – 3:45 pm

So after a break I returned. And since my return I have played 3 hours max. It’s typical that I end up being swamped with work. But I will try doing some more quests this weekend. Two more days of working and then it’s time to relax. And take a trip to Azeroth again. The picture is a bit outdated because it’s captured around level 55. And I am now level 65.

Written by damiende on October 1, 2007 – 8:59 am

To help me control my obsession about Rmt I got this old game. It’ s fun being a bad ass trucker.

I am also looking forward to the two new trainsimulators that are on their way.

Up next my return to World of Warcraft.

Until next time

My experience with LOTRO

Written by damiende on July 9, 2007 – 2:03 pm

So far it’s been a pleasant experience, in 10 days I have made it to level 11. And I think it might be a good game to give me a break from Wow.  It’s not to hard to get the grasp of it. And I think it’s a good game for a player thats new to these kind of games. The quests are the typical quests you find in these games. Kill a certain number of mobs to gain some experience when you talk to a NPC.  But even so it doesnt feel repetetive, and that’s good. It’s easy to lose focus when things get boring. And that’s a bad thing. It’s also easy to get money in this game. By selling the stuff that drops from mobs I have gotten enough cash to get by.

I have done one fellowship and it went smoothly. We had to kill a troll and the 3 of us managed to beat it easily. It’s fun to be a hunter, it’s a new class for me. In ffxi my main was red mage, and wow it’s a warrior. I might try the other classes as time goes by, but Damiende the hunter is my main focus right now. This weeks goal is to at least get to level 15, and by the looks of it I might get it done. I have a bunch of quests to do and that should give me enough exp to get a few levels.

Until next time

I went out and bought LOTRO the other day.

Written by damiende on June 30, 2007 – 9:43 pm

And so far it’s been a fun game. I created a hobbit and named him Damiende. I made him a hunter, and he’s now level 7.  It’s a easy game and the interface is easy to get into. The starting quests are a nice way to get used to how things work. I have also teamed up for the first part. A player named Aldric helped me out, killing a few nasty guys. Lotro looks a bit like Wow in some aspects the action bars is one example. One thing I like is that when you sell something you don’t have to open your bags. There is a big window containing all your stuff. So you just pick the things you want to sell and there you go. One thing that is a bit annoying is that you have to click on all bags to close them. It’s not like in Wow where you click on the main bag and they all close. So far I have just scratced the surface. And I am looking forward to keep on playing Lotro for a long time to come. As time goes by I think it might be a proper competitor to Wow, but with a unique blend of it’s own. In my opinion Lotro is here to stay.

Until next time
