Why am I doing this
Written by damiende on October 29, 2007 – 2:26 pmWhy do I have a blog. I mean some people are doing their best to tell me how bad this blog is.
Well I got some news for them, I couldn’t care less about their opinion. You want to give me some advice on how to improve this blog. Do it properly, don’t act like a jerk. This is something I do for fun it’s as simple as that.
It’s fun to see these morons claim that they have pwned me. Of course they will claim that. It’s the nature of the beast. If they had spent one minute thinking before they typed out a reply they would see how stupid they are. But I guess thats to much to ask for.
Until next time

Final Fantasy XI should implement these things.
Written by damiende on October 25, 2007 – 1:55 pmThey should look to wow for some great input on how to mess with goldsellers. They should turn most things that you buy on the AH bind on pickup. This would give crafters a way to earn money. But gilsellers couldn’t sell the weapons or armor to other players only npcs.
Have more stuff turned into rare/ex this would also put a dent into the gilsellers income.
The greatest impact would be if more players started to care and actually reported cheaters. To many ffxi players are ignorant to the fact that cheating happens. This was evident when you saw what players said afther the list of ffxi app customers was published.
These are some simple steps that would mess with gilsellers big time.

Time to sell some of my books
Written by damiende on October 22, 2007 – 3:40 pmNext week I have an appointment with a book trader that might buy some of my books. It will be interesting to see how much I can get for some of them. I have a few books that are worth at least 100 dollars each. So hopefully I might get some cash towards a new camera.
As some of you might notice the blog has a few bugs today. I installed the latest version of wordpress and all tough every thing went pretty smooth, some bugs has been spotted. Hopefully these will be terminated quickly. I am also looking into changing the theme, but I haven’t found one that I like.
Until next time

I just love it
Written by damiende on October 20, 2007 – 6:17 pmYeah I really do.
Thanks to some real attention whores over at a few certain forums. This blog has gotten more attention then I could ever dream of. Thanks a lot guys and girls. It’s always fun when attention whores needs to post some witty stuff aimed towards you, just to stroke their virtual cock. What they fail to realize is that all they do is send more visitors towards the site being advertised.
Over at allakhazam they claim that the ratings system takes care of stuff, but even long after a post is sub defaulted over there. People click the links. So much for moderation. I wonder how many people has gotten a keylogger from a post over there? Well thanks to all the attention whores out there. You sure gave me a lot of help.
Thanks a lot.
Until next time

Back in Azeroth
Written by damiende on October 18, 2007 – 3:45 pmSo after a break I returned. And since my return I have played 3 hours max. It’s typical that I end up being swamped with work. But I will try doing some more quests this weekend. Two more days of working and then it’s time to relax. And take a trip to Azeroth again. The picture is a bit outdated because it’s captured around level 55. And I am now level 65.

Collecting books.
Written by damiende on October 15, 2007 – 12:40 pmCollecting books is a fun hobby, that takes up lots of space. During the weekend I got 5 boxes full of old books. I got a few gems, amongst them a few old bibles. One of the bibles are from 1821 and one from 1876. I also found some poetry and a cook book, that brings the total number of cookbooks I have up to 12. A long way to go before I beat the Norwegian journalist that has over 5000 of them.
Tomorrow I have to hunt for some new book shelfs. I think two new ones should be enough for now. At least for a couple of weeks. During the next 3 weeks I have 5 different book collections to check out. I am seriously running out of space. So next week I might take a trip to a book store that sells antique books, and sell some of them. I have to do it. Otherwise I’ll run out of space.
Until next time

It’s Big business
Written by damiende on October 14, 2007 – 7:18 pmBelow you can find a list of over one hundred gold/plat/gilselling sites. I am sure that there’s more sites out there. But even so it shows how big this business is. Even so it’s still run by a few big sites, that operates several of the smaller ones. A few companies runs most of the business. Gameplan was tightly linked to Ige. And most likely is to this day. And then you have sites like mmomaven that provides cheats and hacks. And mmoglider the botting program sued by Blizzard. All in all it’s a diverse business.

I miss FFXI
Written by damiende on October 12, 2007 – 2:18 pmFFXI was the first game that really fueled my online gaming. It was the first game that I really got into.
It’s been over a year since I stopped playing. But I still think of stuff that I did in ffxi. Sometimes when I watch a movie. I can remember different places in FFXI and what I did there the last time I saw that movie. When the new expansion comes out. I think I might give it another go, and maybe reach the highest level. When I left I was level 64 on my red mage. Right before I left I bought a nice new sword. A gold sword +1. About a week after I bought it, I left the game.
Why did I leave, my computer broke down and I had to use another computer for a while. And there I picked up world of warcraft again. And since it’s been over a year. I doubt that my characters are still there. It’s a pity because I never said goodbye to those in my Linkshell. And that’s a pity. They were a great bunch. Good luck to you all..
Until next time

FFXI Cheaters gets exposed
Written by damiende on October 9, 2007 – 3:48 pmSomeone hacked into the ffxi app site and got the names of those that bought the botting program. Then proceeded to publish the names on the net. Looks like a hacker with a hatred against cheaters. I wonder how many tells that has been sent towards these cheaters in game. I am pretty sure that most of them has a big blacklist by now
I would think that ffxi app is dead after this. I wonder what their customers are thinking now that their names are out in public. One should think that nobody wants to do business with them after this. And I surely hope so. I hope this thing puts a fear into the cheaters hearts. And that the think twice about what could happen. Because I am sure that this is just the beginning. The person behind all this probably got a trick or two up his sleeve before he calls it a day.
The ultimate thing to do would be to hack into the gilseller sites. IGE would be in deep deep trouble if their list of customers went public. Actually I think that IGE would be dead if such a thing would happen. Because I can’t believe that people would buy gil there, if something like that happened. And not at any other site either. And I do believe that SE Blizzard or SOE should be more active towards those buying gold. Bust a bunch of them, and sales will start to dwindle. That along with their fight against those providing these cheats would be the way to go if you ask me.

My old books
Written by damiende on October 7, 2007 – 5:36 pmI am one of those that likes to collect stuff.
And the collection I’m most proud of is my collection of books. I have more then 400 books in my collection. Ranging from Crime to biographies. The oldest book in my collection is a bible from 1876. I also have a few cookbooks from the same era. The cookbooks are my favorites, I enjoy reading them from time to time. It’s interesting to see how some things never change when it comes to cooking. It’s also fun to see how things have changed over the years. I have been reading books all my life. And I have read almost every book in my collection. Some of them I have read more then once. Carl Hiaasen is one of my favorite authors today. Along with Ingvar Ambjørnsen. I have read all of Carl Hiaasens books several times. The same goes for the books of Ingvar Ambjørnsen. Most of the time I read two or three books at the same time.
I recently started to work in a thrift store. And I am disgusted at how they treat things. Books that are not sold are being destroyed. Same thing goes for furniture that doesn’t get sold. I hate to see old things destroyed because others say it’s worthless. The irony is that most of the books that get destroyed. Gets destroyed because those pricing them, are pricing them to high. Another thing that’s amazing actually is that they destroy bibles. Yepp you heard me, the thrift store is a part of the Salvation army. And they destroy bibles that don’t sell.
I think that destroying a book that’s complete are really stupid. You don’t destroy books. Unless they are in a bad bad shape. If it’s of no value for you it’s of value for someone else.
Another thing about collecting stuff is space. Besides books I collect cameras and other stuff. Recently I got myself a old cash register. It got a few dents in it. And some buttons are missing. But it works, and since I got it for free I took it. Only problem is I am running out of space. So I might have to move soon, to a bigger place.
Until next time
