Returning to Wow

Written by damiende on September 30, 2007 – 5:19 pm

After a few months break from world of warcraft, I am thinking about returning.  During the summer months I  got other things to do then to sit and play games. I’d rather be outside enjoying the sun, taking some pictures. I tried taking pictures with the old cameras I bought earlier but they didn’t turn out too good. They were under exposed. But what can you expect from cameras that are almost 50 years old.

When I left Wow I had reached lvl 65, with plenty of exploring to do. It will be fun to start up again, sometimes I miss traveling trough outlands on my mount. Or fishing in Stormwind.

Since I left quite a few of those that got me started in Wow has left the game. But I don’t think it will be that hard to get some new friends.

Until next time

Calthine here is a few things to for you to think about.

Written by damiende on September 24, 2007 – 3:37 pm

As an admin over at Allakhazam you have lots of power. Yet you and the other admins let some people get away with various things.

Let me start with avatars.

There is one poster with a avatar that has some funny animal with large balls bouncing around. That one isn’t to bad. The one with the simulated masturbation and blowjob is a bit worse. I don’t know if the forums are directed towards a mature audience or towards younger people. And not to mention that brilliant curse filter that’s there. Why aren’t people that bypass it punished for it ? It’s against the rules isn’t it ? If not then why is it there? Or are the rules at the allakhazam forums just for fun?

Seriously how well does the ratings system work when it comes to unwanted posts. Like someone spamming a goldseller site or a blog. Last time i posted my links over there. They got sub defaulted rather quickly. But even so people continued to come to my blog. That wasn’t't the intention of the ratings system was it? That most posters has their filter set to never.

How come posters are allowed to rude to others. If someone is being troll. It sometimes looks like the other posters can post whatever they want to. I have seen quite a few ways to wish death upon someone in replies to a troll. And other nasty stuff. That most likely would get someone banned at any other forum.

Why did I write this I don’t expect anyone from allakhazam to respond to it. I wrote it because I felt like writing it.

Looks like someone had a blast over at allakhazam again.

Written by damiende on September 23, 2007 – 2:12 pm

From time to time, someone has a blast over at allakhazam and makes posts with links to this blog. I don’t know why they would do this. First of all, I don’t need visitors from Allakhazam. I have enough visitors as it is. Allakhazam is still in denial and that is fine with me. It shall be fun to see how things work out over there when they create the new wikias. It sure is a nice collection of new admins they have gotten themself.

Until next time

Interview with a goldbuyer part two

Written by damiende on September 16, 2007 – 3:21 pm

1

Can you tell us a little bit about the various online games you have played.

The first game I played was Everquest, followed by Final Fantasy XI and Everquest 2 The first game I played intensively was Everquest 2. I have played it since it first launched.

2

How much time do you spend playing games each day?

Ca 2 3 hours each day. Some days more some days less.

3

When did you start thinking about buying currency ?

I bought it from day one. It was money well spent.

4

Why did you start thinking about buying ?
I hate doing things over and over. So buying currency really was the only way for me to be able to enjoy the game. I hate doing stuff poorly, so I do whatever I can to become one of the best.

5

Have you cheated besides buying currency ?

No
6

Where you afraid of getting busted ?

No not once. When was the last time you heard about someone being busted for buying, it’s the farmers that get busted.

7

Would you buy currency again ?

When the odds of being busted buying plat is zero to none of course I will.
8

What would you say to those who call you a cheater?

Call me a cheater if you want, I don’t care. I buy currency to play the game my way. So just leave me alone. I’m not hurting anyone. It’s a game what is so bad about buying currency?

Interview with a goldbuyer.

Written by damiende on September 2, 2007 – 4:23 pm

This is an interview I did with a goldbuyer. For various reasons we can call him Apu.

1
Can you tell us a little bit about the various online games you have
played.

First MMORPG i played was Eve Online, was quite easy at first but after i had been away for a while they’d changed much of the game mechanics, you couldnt use a certain type of missiles if you didnt have 10 subskills for it, and that ruined much of the game for me.

A few weeks later i read that Anarchy online would be released free of charge for a year and i decided to try it out, all in all i thought it was a good game at first, but then i chose the wrong place to go to after the so-called “noob-island” and i ended up fighting monsters 10-15 levels higher than me. So i decided to quit playing.

Then a friend introduced me to World of Warcraft, i was hooked immiediately and actually quit my job to play it (which looking back on it now was a stupid thing to do) I got to lvl 60, which was the highest level you could reach before The Burning Crusade and everything just felt like a huge grind. even more so in The Burning Crusade at level 70.

I met some people i became good friends with on wow and i even managed to get some of my friends to play it. Sometimes i did become increasingly bored with WoW though and i logged on sometimes just to talk with friends. Earlier this year, about 1&1/2 months after TBC was released and i had made it to level 70 i decided to quit it. and i managed to not play wow for roughly 3 months when the friend that had introduced me to it wanted to use my character for himself, i agreed and he reactivated my account again. And let me play on it whenever i wanted. As im writing this i’m considering quitting WoW again and rather do something else with my time.

2
How much time do you spend playing games each day?

I’d say more than 4 hours each day.

3
When did you start thinking about buying currency ?

I think it was sometime last year while i was raiding.

4
Why did you start thinking about buying ?

I spent a good 30-50g every week i was raiding and i couldnt farm that amount in the offdays when i was working.
5

How many times did you purchase gold ?

4 times for myself and 3 times for some of my friends.

6

How much gold did you purchase?

1000g 2000g 2500g and finaly 5000g

7

Have you cheated besides buying currency ?

I have but not in MMORPG’s. I used a Wallhack on Counter-Strike a couple of years ago.

8

Where you afraid of getting busted ?

No.

9
Would you buy currency again ?

Once i get money, definately.

10

What would you say to those who call you a cheater?

They can say whatever they want to me, i don’t care one way or the other.

This concludes the first interview. In the future I will post some more interviews, I have a few lined up in the next few weeks.

Until next time

Gevabox 6×9

Written by damiende on September 1, 2007 – 1:45 pm

Got myself a new hobby these days. Collecting old Cameras and camera equipment.

So far I have 4 old cameras and some old equipment. I have two Kodak Instamatic a Gevabox 6×9 and a Voigtländer vito CL. The Kodak cameras are out of order. But the two others are in working order. And I have taken pictures with both of them. When the pictures are ready. I will scan them and post them in my gallery.

The Voigtländer camera was bought here in my hometown in 1960. The Voigtländer camera looks really cool. But the Gevabox is even cooler. The Gevabox 6×9 was made between 1955 and 1959. It’s not a camera for action shots. It shall be fun to see what the pictures looks like when I get them developed.

I also got myself some old equipment. Like old Flash bulbes and a National PB-8 flash and a Agfalux. Both these are from the 50s. I will take some pictures of these later and post on my gallery. You can find some of my photos here.
