I went out and bought LOTRO the other day.

Written by damiende on June 30, 2007 – 9:43 pm

And so far it’s been a fun game. I created a hobbit and named him Damiende. I made him a hunter, and he’s now level 7.  It’s a easy game and the interface is easy to get into. The starting quests are a nice way to get used to how things work. I have also teamed up for the first part. A player named Aldric helped me out, killing a few nasty guys. Lotro looks a bit like Wow in some aspects the action bars is one example. One thing I like is that when you sell something you don’t have to open your bags. There is a big window containing all your stuff. So you just pick the things you want to sell and there you go. One thing that is a bit annoying is that you have to click on all bags to close them. It’s not like in Wow where you click on the main bag and they all close. So far I have just scratced the surface. And I am looking forward to keep on playing Lotro for a long time to come. As time goes by I think it might be a proper competitor to Wow, but with a unique blend of it’s own. In my opinion Lotro is here to stay.

Until next time

How will Chris Benoit’s death affect the wrestling industry?

Written by damiende on June 26, 2007 – 8:27 pm

First of all I want to say that I am getting more and more depressed as information gets out in the Benoit case.  It’s getting more and more crazy. They are now saying he killed his son with his finisher the crippler crossface. This is something that could have been taken out of a really bad horror movie.

I believe that the wrestling industry and steroid abuse will forever be linked in the mainstream media after this. And I think that it might be possible that there will be some serious investigating into the matter because of this. I don’t think that Benoit killed his wife and kids in a fit of roid rage. But I believe that steroid abuse could be part of the explanation of this tragedy.  Along with a serious mental illness.  And this is where the wrestling industry will come in. I say wrestling industry because Wwe is not the only wrestling company out there. Tna in my opinion are not that different from Wwe when it comes to wrestlers using steroids.  So if there is some sort blowup on the matter, Tna should be in there along with Wwe.  The list of wrestlers that has died way to young is just to long. It’s about time something happens. And I think this might be the thing that starts to turn things around. I might be naive to think that something would change because of this. But so be it.

Wowhead sold for over 1 million dollars

Written by damiende on June 23, 2007 – 12:38 pm

Looks like Affinity media is on a roll. With it’s latest purchase they now own Allakhazam Thottbot and now Wowhead. And according to some they still own IGE. I wonder who’s next on their shopping list. Is this some sort of way to try and turn RMT into something nice? If that’s the case they have come a long way with this latest purchase. But I believe that their biggest enemy is Brock Pierce. He has been closely linked to people involved in trafficing of minors. The good thing for him is that it’s a secret almost exclusive to the gaming comunity. Fortunatly for him it looks like those that pays for premium on Allakhazam for example. Don’t care about this. This is pretty evident when you see some of the posts there. This could quickly change if more people got aware of this. And that would be bad news for Affinity media and Brock Pierce. And who knows maybe it will happen one day.

Microsoft Trainsimulator is still going strong

Written by damiende on June 21, 2007 – 6:10 pm

When Microsoft Trainsimulator came out 6 years ago. I purchased it, and had lots of fun with it. Until the novelty faded away and I forgot about the game for the most part. Until I discovered that there is still a large community making addons for the game. So I installed the game again. I downloaded some Norwegian trains and routes and I am having a great time. So now world of warcraft is being neglected.  It’s amazing to see how detailed some of the routes are. It must take some serious researching before they start making these things. And not to mention the 3d skills some of the creators must have. There is a new railsimulator on it’s way made by those who made Microsoft Trainsimulator. And I am really looking forward to see how it turns out. The screenshots I have seen so far is looking great, and I think it will be a good game. That will provide lots of fun when it comes out. And produce lots of great addons.

Until next time

Blizzard swings the banstick

Written by damiende on June 14, 2007 – 11:48 am

And they hit hard. It looks like cheaters using mmoglider has been hit hard. And the forums over at mmoglider, are flooding with tales of cheaters getting their accounts banned. This is bad news to cheaters every where. Because it shows that Blizzard isn’t slowing down in their effort to stop the cheaters.

Below is some quotes from the mmoglider forums.

“2 accounts gone. My botting account and my 2,5-year old main account with 4×70 epic charaters.

I NEVER glided on my main account, but i was often running glider with my botting account (in background mode) AND separate wow without glider for normal playing (like raiding) on the SAME COMPUTER.

I miss my main acc. but hell, it’s my fault

Gonna get new one and try new beta. Wow is borring, gliding is not

Got banned after coming back from a three day trip(no i did not leave glider on that whole time i was gone XD) lost a 70 warrior in kara/pvp arena epics, lost 65 troll shaman, 63 horde warrior, blank account, 40 pally. They def ban by credit card info even if you took the CC off it has records and will ban all accounts with that CC info. jesus, i guess im either going to quit or glide a new account. funny thing is i didnt even glide on the 70 warrior but i guess he got banned since the CC is connected to it. well cheers for now”

The sad thing is that most likely they will buy another copy and start cheating all over again. Because some peope are to stupid to know when enough is enough. Congrats to Blizzard on a job well done. And remember. If you see someone act like they are a bot. And show every sign of beeing a bot report them. If every player did report the botters, they will have an even harder time.  To many players doesn’t care or choose to turn their head the other way.

Until next time

I just want to say thanks to the posters at Mmomaven..

Written by damiende on June 9, 2007 – 2:57 am

If these goldbuyers are a good represtentation on how smart goldbuyers are. I understand why they buy gold. There is no fucking way they are smart enough to play the game otherwise.  They would be so dependent on other players to help them along in every aspect of the game, that other players would get bored with them.

Two hours of playing Everquest II has left me with this impression.

Written by damiende on June 8, 2007 – 3:51 pm

I created a Dwarf paladin. And so far it’s been fun. I have only scratched the surface so far. I will however continue to play trough the weekend. And who knows maybe I’ll subscribe. Because the first impression of it. Is that it’s a fun game. And not to hard to get a grasp on the basics of the game play. But now it’s time for some sleep.

I’ll give Everquest II a try

Written by damiende on June 7, 2007 – 4:15 pm

Right now I am downloading Trial of the Isles. It’s a huge download, and it says that it got 6 more hours until its finished downloading. A few years back they offered everquest as a free download. And I actually downloaded and tried it. I never quite liked it. The graphics were good but I thought it was to hard to grasp the basics of what to do. I have also tried Anarchy Online and Project Entropia. Both of these I didn’t like. Anarchy Online had a user interface that were to “messy” And I didn’t like the grapics of Project entropia.

The first game I really played was FFXI, say what you want about how party oriented or how long you are LFP. I think it has a easy to learn interface. And for the most part a great playerbase that helps each other. The first player I partied with as a newbie was Pius.

After one year of FFXI I tried World of Warcraft. And that’s what I have been playing since. I have heard alot of positive things about EverquestII and that’s why I want to give it a try. Maybe it’s something I’ll end up playing. And maybe not. Time will tell.

Until next time

Not to shabby

Written by damiende on June 5, 2007 – 8:21 pm

Quite a bit of visitors are passing by each day. In average 50 visitors each day. That’s not to bad considering the fact that I have only posted the link to the blog on two sites. Only one response to my posts. But that will change over the next few weeks, when I get linked on more and more sites out there.

Hell I migth have to join Allakhazam again just to get more visitors here. They were such a friendly bunch last time I was posting there.

Well I think it’s time for bed.

Class action lawsuit is filed against IGE

Written by damiende on June 4, 2007 – 2:57 pm

Tony Hernandez has filed a class action lawsuit against IGE. Claiming that the company pollutes his gaming experience. I wonder how many people join in on this lawsuit?

Actually I think he can go far with this suit. Since the lawyer has stated that money is of no concern for him. That might give IGE a hard fight. In my opinion that is the worst scenario for IGE, because it means that the case might drag out for a long time. Causing them to lose lots of money in the process. Because the IGE lawsuit isn’t based on intellectual property law, but on Unfair Trade Practice statutes, Third Party Beneficiary law and Tortuous Interference With A Contract law.

Actually I think that the way the goldspammers in Wow now act, can be more damaging to them in the long run. Because its even more annyong then the old letters in the mail box. Their new tactic is to invite players into raids and then spam their adverts. Problem is you can’t report them for spam on the invite alone. And I hope that the lawyer takes this new way of acting into the lawsuit.

It’s also funny to see that Brock Pierce is owning a part of Allakhazam and nobody over at the forums cares. What makes them think Brock Pierce isnt involved in the RMT business longer after IGE was sold off? That guy no matter how they look upon it has barely escaped serious jailtime for traficking of minors.

Two times did the goldseller spam his message.

Written by damiende on June 2, 2007 – 2:21 pm

And then he was silent for a while. It was amusing to see how long he stood there in silence. Looks like they started the script and didn’t look at what happened to him. Took 20 mins before he vanished. I also got my first mail from a goldseller since the patch today. It was deleted on the spot. I think it’s much better now because earlier I used to get at least one mail every day.

Later tonight I will have some fun with the company that I got the mail from.

Until next time
